Updates from our State Chairman
Hello:
As the Chair for Kairos of Arizona, we welcome you to our state website!
Kairos Prison Ministry is one ministry with three programs. These programs are:
1. Kairos Inside (serving the residents currently inside the AZ Correctional Facilities – both men & women). For men, we are currently serving in Saguaro CC (Eloy), with plans to add. Wilmot (Tucson) & Eyman (Florence) in 2025. For the women, we plan to add Perryville (Goodyear) in 2025.
2. Kairos Outside (serving women who are or have been affected by by family/friends incarcerated or who were incarcerated themselves). Today we have Advisory Councils in Flagstaff, Phoenix & Tucson.
3. Kairos Torch (serving men & women incarcerated 25 yrs old or less). Today, we are praying for a champion to lead this effort in our youth detention centers.
Kairos is a lay-led ministry, 48 years old, serving in 37 states and 12 countries with 30,000 volunteers. Behind these numbers are people—those whose lives are being transformed both as volunteers and those they serve. Our threefold goal:
• increase our presence to be inside more AZ Correctional Facilities
• grow the Kairos Outside communities, and
• serve the younger incarcerated population at the AZ youth detention facilities.
